Today by Dorothy Fischer Field

If I could revisit yesterday
There are ways I would rearrange it,
But yesterday stands like a monument now--
And I haven't the power to change it.

If I could visit tomorrow
I would carefully fashion each hour,
But tomorrow's a promise, hidden from view,
Like the unopened bud of a flower.

But today is all mine--it is here--it is now
Just waiting for all I can give it,
And at dawn I wake up with a heart that can't wait
To get up--to get out--and to live it!
